All Metals Market Inc. History
In 1969, while working at a local packing plant, Glen "Dale" Yount started buying and selling scrap metal recyclables as a way to supplement his income. His sideline "junking business" started with a 1953 Chevrolet automobile and a few hand tools that would take him from one farm house to another looking for any old metals that area farmers would sell him.
Due to his full time job, Saturday mornings were his only day to market the precious material that he had collected, sorted, and processed during the week. In October of 1973, the success of his sideline business enabled Dale to quit the grind of packing house work and devote all his efforts to self employment. Dale would have various employees during the next several years but mainly himself. In 1979 Dale's son, Kevin, came to work for him full time. In 1986 Dale retired and Kevin & his wife Lori purchased the business; currently they have over 45 employees. |
